Geophysical Alert Message
Solar-terrestrial indices for 18 November follow.

Solar flux 69 and mid-latitude A-index 2.
The mid-latitude K-index at 1200 UTC on 19 November was 0 (2 nT).

No space weather storms were observed for the past 24 hours.
No space weather storms are expected for the next 24 hours.
* * More simply, low flux but otherwise good conditions. * *

Notice how the 40M NVIS opening does NOT include
any of the US, so far, and this is 11 AM Eastern time.

And we see that 40M was never open for NVIS above 30 degrees North on that day.

The sunspot cycle significantly affects when 40M will open for NVIS. Sunspot lows (2006 and 2007) have seen very few 40M NVIS openings in any but the very Southern most portions of the US.

Anyone that says you can use 40M NVIS during any day, has not fully qualified their statement.
